A popular pharmacist, Ravi Morisetty, says that medication adherence is crucial for patients with a my medical condition. If they want to fight the disease, they have to take the medicines as prescribed. Missing a dose can prove to be fatal for patient's health. He says that a pharmacist is one of the most important parts of the healthcare department, who can encourage patients to take medication as prescribed.

According to Ravi Morisetty, here is how a pharmacist can improve medication adherence.

      1.      Suggest patients to use only one pharmacy
using only one pharmacy in shorts that all of the patient’s information will be at one location only.This can help the pharmacist in mitigating the adverse events to a great extent. Taking new prescriptions every time can result in in the risk of drug to drug interactions. It also helps the pharmacist in tracking the progress in patient’s health.

      2.      Recommend using pill dispensers or reminders
Organizing medicines for each day use is quite essential. Pharmacists can recommend patients to buy pill box that will help them in keeping medicines in different compartments. Buy just taking a glance at the pill box, the patients will get to know that they have not taken a particular medicine. 

      3.      Ask patients to keep a medication list
It will prove to be quite beneficial if the patient keep the list of the medication did take including the dosage, drug, and the condition for which they take it. Pharmacists can also ask the patients to give the copy of the medication list to their loved ones so that in case the miss place it, they will have a copy for their use.

Becoming a pharmacist isn’t easy. Ravi Morisetty says that it takes a lot of hard work and patience to become up pharmacist. If you have done in a hard work to become a pharmacist, you must take the responsibility of encouraging medication adherence among the patients.
